Dove's Campaign

noticed nice blog from blogpourri about Woman's Worth. interesting to note Dove pro-age campaign.

response to this ad.. pro-family and women's groups are urging a boycott of Dove products for "contributing to the sexualization of women as a commercial tool, as well as exposing children to adult nudity." and "media analysts have accused the company of pandering to women in an attempt to sell products".

and can you believe this ad is banned because of nudity ..;~) but victoria secret model is still OK..!!

Dove have history of making innovative ads.. "Other ads that have created media buzz for the company have included the "True Colors" ad that featured little girls worried about their appearances and a series of ads featuring large women, older women and women with perceived flaws that asked viewers to vote on their level of attractiveness."

whatz more Interesting is that-- according to Dove's global survey, only 2% of the 3000 women surveyed believe they are beautiful. 90% describe themselves as 'attractive' while 29% described themselves as 'average'. 63% of respondents felt that women were expected to be more attractive than women of their mothers' generation. Now Dove is sponsoring programs to boost the self-esteem among women.

I wonder why women feel pressure to look good than mother's generation.!? and I hope (like always)man are not blamed for this too...! and what this means in content of Indian women..!!
